Number One Mortgage Calculator

See the monthly cost of a home.

Enter the purchase price, your deposit, the rate, and the term. We work out the loan, the monthly mortgage payment, and a schedule — in your browser, nothing uploaded.

Pro tip! Open advanced options to add tax, insurance, and extra repayments. Extra each month is often the simplest way to cut years of interest — if your lender allows it.

What this monthly number is made of

The headline mortgage payment is principal and interest on the loan — the purchase price minus your deposit. Lenders often talk about LTV, loan-to-value: the loan as a share of the home price. A 20% deposit is an 80% LTV; going thinner than that can mean extra insurance in some markets.

Tax, buildings insurance, and PMI are not the mortgage itself, but they still leave the account every month. Add them in advanced options if you want a closer “can I afford this house” figure. Extra repayments cut the balance faster, so you pay less interest — if the contract allows it.

Rates, fees, and tax rules differ by country and lender. This is a private sketch in your browser, not an offer and not advice.
